The Almost In Time Dixieland Jazz Band formed in 2001 with the goal of keeping young saxophone players from roaming the streets of McFarland, and we take credit for the decline in crimes committed with that blunt instrument. In our nineteen years we have performed over a hundred gigs, including seventeen years' worth of shows at the McFarland Family Festival. We have also used up almost a hundred band members before distilling down to the fifteen fine musicians you'll hear in our 2019 season.

Dixieland music is don't-sit-still music, and we always hope our audiences have at least as much fun listening and dancing as we do performing and (sometimes) rehearsing. Our musicians hail from McFarland and from all over the Madison area. We range in age from 16 to 76 years, with a lineup that includes high school and college students, retired music teachers, and a selection of regular folk in between, united by the joy of music. Speaking of joy: Our CDs are available for purchase at any of our gigs. The live band is available for  picnics, shindigs, and funerals, on very easy terms.
